My Heart is a Twitter-Creative Ways To Use It!

So now you are set up with your Twitter account, you have some followers and are following a few people yourself. About now I bet you are thinking, OK I don’t get? Why am I wasting my time with this when I can be doing other things to get sales!

Well, here are some ways to achieve Twitter greatness that will allow you to market your business effectively and that won’t make you feel you are wasting your time.

Branding. Twitter is a great way of branding. Creating a great username and a custom Twitter page can help you build a great brand among the Tweet community. Casual chatting mixed with business will deem you as professional yet approachable. Just like in real life, the more followers you have, the more that will follow you-so being personable and open matters! And you posting methods and style are also a part of building your brand.

Hiring. Ever wish you could find a good web designer, marketing guru or even a babysitter locally. Put up a post of what you are looking for and watch the recommendations fly!

Website Traffic. Ask your Twitter friends to tweet about your business. But make sure you return the favor! They may have many followers that are not currently following you, so it is like an introduction to many people who know nothing about you. Some of your friends followers may just like your biz enough they will share it with their own followers and so on.

Sales & Special. If you have specials, contests or promotions, Tweeting about it can bring plenty of traffic to your site. After all who doesn’t love a sale or contest?

Feedback. Need some feedback about a project, web design or other idea? Tweet it and get honest feedback from people who do not care if they upset you! Sorry but you know your friends and Mom & Dad will always like your ideas! Now you have a full resource of people who have nothing to hide!

These are just a few ways that beginners can use Twitter to start achieving the benefits quickly!

Hopefully this article has given some insight into how Twitter is a phenomenal tool for self-promotion as well as just plain old making friends with common interests.

Several additional Twitter articles will be written to cover the more advanced features and promotional ways you can use this trend setting tool!

  1. This is a great post! I had known this before starting my twitter. I haven’t really paid any attention to it after I created it but now, I can see I need to get back at it.

    Thanks!

  2. Great ideas. I’ve been running a series on using Twitter via my blog, too. Because Twitter is micro blogging at its finest, it’s real easy to use Twitter to promote, market, and network.

    Here’s the series: http://thedabblingmum.blogspot.com/2008/08/using-twitter-to-promote-your-business.html

  3. WOW! This is great info! I just created my Twitter account yesterday and was ready to give up on learning how to use it. Thanks a bunch for your insight.
