Grant Opportunity for Mom Entrepreneurs

Many women who decide to start their own businesses run into a big obstacle; funding. Often, a decision to start a small or home based business is one that brings on a bit of financial struggle. From the loss of wages after leaving a 9-5 job to the high costs of starting your own business, finding financial support can be challenging and stressful.

Thankfully, there are several opportunities to apply for grant money, business start up contests, or even reality TV shows based on women starting businesses. One opportunity is given by Moms in Business Unite Conference which was founded by five women entrepreneurs with the goal to both educate and empower women in business. This conference is aimed at helping women and Mom Entrepreneurs “pursue their entrepreneurial endeavors by providing tools, resources, and guidance for their journey through the various stages of business ownership.”

The conference is an all day event (taking place September 16, 2009) which will include a key note speakers, panel discussions, breakout sessions for attendees, product demonstrations by new inventors, networking, and an award ceremony. During the award ceremony, one Mom Entrepreneur will be awarded a grant which will help her take her innovative idea to the next level by providing much needed capital.
